▶ Regulating Valves : to control flow, pressure, or temperature
- Globe, Needle, Butterfly, Ball, Plug, Diaphragm

▶ Backflow Prevention : self-actuating

▶ Pressure Relief Devices : Relief Valve, Rupture Disc

▶ GATE VALVE

§  Wedge Type : Disc as figure like wedge
- Solid Wedge Gate Valve : Under 2", cold or ambient water line
- Flexible Wedge Gate Valve : commonly used type

§  Double Disc Type
- Double Disc Parallel-seat Gate Valve : high temperature steam service

§  Conduit Gate Valve : For a pipeline for pigging as cleaning

§  Knife Gate Valve : sludge


▶ GLOBE VALVE

§  Tee Pattern Globe Valve : severe throttling service, control valve bypass

§  Wye Pattern Globe Valve : Minimize a resistance of flow

§   Angle Pattern Globe Valve : pulsating flow


▶ NEEDLE VALVE : instrument, gauge, meter line service


▶ CHECK VALVE

§   Swing Check Valve : general purpose, liquid & gas

§   Lift Check Valve : high pressure service
- Piston type Lift Check Valve : small size, horizontal line
- Ball type Lift Check Valve : high viscous fluid service

§   Tilting Disc Check Valve : pulsating, turbulent, and high velocity flows

§   Stop Check Valve : steam generation by multiple boilers

§   Dual Plate Check Valve : non-fouling liquids


▶ BALL VALVE : tight on-off control

§   Split-Body Ball Valve : two part body

§   Top-Entry Ball Valve : Possible to maintenance on in-line

§   End-Entry Ball Valve : small valve

§   Three-Piece Body Ball Valve

§   Trunnion Ball Valve : high pressure, large size

§   Floating Ball Valve : low pressure, small size


▶ PLUG VALVE : water, oil, slurries, gases, chemical liquid

§   Lubricated Plug Valve : greater corrosion resistance

§   Non-lubricated Plug Valve : Minimize a maintenance


▶ DIAPHRAGM VALVE : good chemical resistance

§   Wafer type Butterfly Valve : Under 12", low pressure and low temperature

§   Lug type Butterfly Valve : Near equipment nozzle
